What happens if my patient loses or damages their CGM device?

If there is a technical issue or the CGM sensors and transmitters are not functioning properly, CGM manufacturers will often replace them.

If the CGM sensors and transmitters are lost or damaged as a result of patient action, getting new equipment may exceed quantity limits and require prior authorization through the pharmacy of the patient’s Medicaid Managed Care Plan.
